The amount of lawsuits filed as a result of last summer's night club brawl instigated by rappers Chris Brown and Drake continues to grow. Recently, the two celebrity hip hop artists filed suits against each other, both claiming that the other was responsible to starting the fight. They are both facing fines for the damages caused during the brawl and want to see their counterpart pay for them.
While no criminal charges have been filed, the club has faced an onslaught of claims by athletes, models and various other persons who were injured during the melee, which started between the Brown and Drake and escalated into a full house brawl. Lawsuits against the rappers and the club itself are still in progress but in the event that one of the suits wins, all defending parties are in dispute as to who should pay the damages.
NBA star Tony Parker filed a $20 million suit against the club's owners after suffering a corneal laceration in his left eye and other injuries as a result of the fight. While Brown and Drake were not named in that suit, French model Romain Julien filed suit against the two men claiming he suffered injuries as well as cosmetic deformities and mental distress following the brawl. The club's owners have filed a lawsuit against Drake and Brown claiming the two encouraged security personnel, bodyguards and friends to join the fight which ended up as a massive violent brawl. Two other women injured in the fight are still waiting on the results of their respective lawsuits.
The bottle-tossing brawl injured a number of people and caused irreparable damage to the club's reputation not to mention the physical damage to the facility. While no one has been arrested concerning the brawl, the two rappers who are believed to be responsible are hopeful that the other will receive the full amount of charges.
